This 10 year old Yamazaki bears the 'Pure Malt' designation, a label Suntory transitioned to 'Single Malt' in 2002 to align with Scotch whisky standards.

While the regular Yamazaki 10 is already rare and discontinued, this 'Pure Malt' version was discontinued even earlier, in 2002. The spirit in this bottle was matured in bourbon barrels, before being bottled at a sturdy 40% ABV.
