XOP Glenrothes 25 Year Old 1997

25 year old Glenrothes single malt Scotch whisky, this was distilled back in June 1997 and bottled in March 2023 with an outturn of 189 bottles. This comes to us via Douglas Laing's XOP (Xtra Old Particular) range, which is reserved for rare, well-aged whiskies.

Tasting Note

Nose

Early honey on the nose gives way to home-baking and barley tones.

Palate

The palate mouth-coats with sugar sweetness, showing a later hazelnut and spice quality.

Finish

Distinctly burnt citric zest shows on the finish ahead of an orange liqueur style.
