XOP Clynelish 25 Year Old 1996

This generously aged single malt from Clynelish joins the Xtra Old Particular collection from Douglas Laing. Distilled in October 1996, the whisky spent a quarter of a century resting in a single refill butt, yielding a total of 487 bottles when it was opened in June 2022.

Tasting Note

The characterful nose reveals candied apples and sticky dates alongside an abundance of warming spice. The fulsome palate bursts with chocolate orange and honey'd barley with cloves and nutmeg. The lingering finish brings ripe red fruits, pepper and a waxy style.
