XOP Ben Nevis 25 Year Old 1996

From the multi award winning independent bottler Douglas Laing, comes their Xtra Old Particular single cask range. This Ben Nevis 25 Year Old is one of the hardest to find, thanks to the distillery’s popularity in Asia. This Xtra Old Particular was distilled in 1996 and matured in a refill hogshead for 25 years before being bottled in 2022 at 52.4% ABV. 

Tasting Note

Nose

Shows great subtlety at this strength among coconut, malt, spices and vanilla.

Palate

Deftly spiced with marmalade, barley sugar, honey, malt and a touch of oak.

Finish

Still citric(mainly lime) before orange, chocolate and chunky barley.
