About the Distillery

Strathclyde is a grain whisky distillery located in the Gorbals district of Glasgow, Scotland. Established in 1927, it has been a key part of Scotland’s whisky blending tradition for nearly a century. The distillery exclusively produces grain whisky, using primarily wheat as the base cereal, which is distilled in a continuous column still to create a light, clean spirit.

Owned by Chivas Brothers (part of the Pernod Ricard group), Strathclyde's output is rarely bottled as a single grain whisky, but it plays a significant role in many well-known blended Scotch whiskies. Occasionally, independent bottlers release casks of Strathclyde, offering a rare opportunity to experience the distillery's elegant and smooth spirit in its unblended form.

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Strathclyde single grain scotch whisky, distilled in 2013.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 200 liters | New strength 66.1% ABV | 132 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 283 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
