About the distillery

Speyside Distillery is a relatively young and small Scotch whisky distillery located near Kingussie, in the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains in the Speyside region of Scotland. Though it carries the region’s name, it is a distinct, privately-owned operation with a strong emphasis on artisanal craftsmanship and traditional methods.

Construction of the distillery began in the 1960s and it was completed in 1990, making it one of the more modern additions to the Scottish whisky landscape. It was built inside a 200-year-old barley mill, and much of the original charm remains intact, giving the distillery a unique, handcrafted feel.

Speyside Distillery is known for producing small-batch, character-driven single malts such as Spey Fumare, Spey Tenne, and Spey Royal Choice. These whiskies often feature delicate, smooth, and fruity profiles, with some peated variants as well.

Today, Speyside Distillery remains an independent player in the Scotch whisky world, producing elegant, boutique-style single malts that reflect both the Speyside tradition and the distillery's own creative spirit.

Other Information

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Speyside single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2014.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 190 liters | New strength 63.2% ABV | 120 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 268 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
