Singleton of Glen Ord 18 Year Old

Volume: 700ml / ABV: 40%

A delicious 18 year old Speyside malt from the Dufftown distillery, the majority of the whisky is matured in American oak casks and a smaller quantity in European sherry oak casks to give you the perfectly balanced whisky. This best whisky has a long fermentation of up to 75 hours. Combine that with slow, batch distillation and maturation in the oak casks gives you a complex yet accessible and well structured whisky.

Slightly less spicy, more mature, darker in colour and deeper in flavour than the Singleton of Glen Ord 12 Year Old, the 18 year old is a sophisticated and well-structured Scotch. 

Tasting Note

Nose

Aromas of walnuts, polished antique oak lead into a whole bowl of dried fruits followed by ginger biscuits, and a honeyed sweetness cut by cleansing freshness.

Palate

Very full and cooling. A splendid mouth-coating richness with elegant orange oil and rich fruit . Becoming drying and appetising, with notes of chocolate truffle.

Finish

Full, long and finely detailed, with clear cedar notes against a smooth backdrop of fine, silky chocolate.
