From Shindo Distillery, part of the “EXPERIMENTAL FOR CORES” series based on the philosophy “The Quest for the Original.” This release explores the fusion of classical peated whisky tradition with Shindo’s signature spirit character, and is the distillery’s first official peated expression.

CORES.02 is a multi-cask vatting composed of 67% peated bourbon cask, 15% non-peated bourbon cask, 13% new Mizunara cask, 3% cognac cask, and 2% Oloroso sherry cask. The peated bourbon casks provide elegant smokiness and depth, while bourbon casks add brightness and sweetness. Mizunara introduces soft spice and aromatic complexity, sherry adds body, and cognac refines the finish.

The result is a layered whisky that opens with refined peat smoke, develops into creamy, toffee-like sweetness and rich malt character, and finishes with long Shindo-style sweetness and gentle spice, balancing smokiness and soft, lactone-driven richness.
