Swiss single malt whisky here from Brauerei Locher's Säntis Malt range! This is an enjoyably peaty expression which is allowed to mature in old oak beer casks, helping to balance the rich smokiness. The Locher family began producing whisky in 1999, after a ban on distilling spirits from grain was lifted, though the family had owned the brewery since the 1800s.

Tasting Note

Nose

Toasted brown sugar and earthy vanilla, with layers of soft smoke wafting in from all sides.

Palate

Cinder toffee and thick honey, paired with campfire smoke and white pepper.

Finish

Meaty malt and some lingering hints of freshly-baked bread.
