Port Ellen 32 Year Old 1979 11th Release

This bold, robust, smoke infused masterpiece is the 11th Port Ellen in Diageo's Special Releases series, distilled in 1979 and bottled after 32 years of maturation in oak casks. We reckon it's the best official PE in many years. Just 2988 bottles were produced, bottled at a hefty cask strength of 53.9% ABV. 

Tasting Note

Nose

A fine, elegant peat, where beautiful notes of sweet spices and citrus fruits mingle.

Palate

Fine. Divine marriage between citrus fruits (lemons) and exotic fruits (mango) where spices gradually make a brief appearance.

Finish

Spectacular length in the mouth. The salty peat is very fine, reminiscent of a platter of oysters served by the sea.
