Each vintage of Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz offers a cool-climate contrast to the richer Bin 28 Shiraz. Sourced from Coonawarra's unique terra rossa soils, Bin 128 highlights the perfume and elegance of cool-climate reds. Since its 1962 debut, the wine has been matured in new and seasoned French oak, a practice refined in the 1980s.

Tasting Note

Nose

An inviting nose with savory roasted pepper beef and Beef Wellington, balanced by sweet spice. Meaty complexity from salami and fennel seed meets bright blue fruits, while floral notes of jasmine, gardenia, and violets intertwine with sweet red berries.

Palate

True to its Coonawarra roots, this vintage showcases a distinctive ferrous red grip, a signature of the terra rossa soil. Mineral undertones add depth, while firm tannins and French oak spice bring structure. Notes of cola, cedar, tart cranberry, and redcurrant blend with subtle white pepper, cigar box, and paprika, finishing with a hint of rare roast beef.
