About the Distillery

The Orkney Distillery is a modern craft distillery located in Kirkwall, Orkney, Scotland. Established in 2018, it is known for producing Kirkjuvagr Gin, a spirit inspired by Orkney’s Norse heritage and local botanicals. Although the distillery does not currently produce whisky, it has earned a strong reputation for its small-batch, premium gin and its commitment to local tradition and sustainable production. The facility features traditional copper stills and a contemporary visitor centre overlooking Kirkwall harbour.

Other Information

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Orkney single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2005.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 444 liters | New strength 58.3% ABV | 259 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 632 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
