Old Particular Midnight Series Glenrothes 18 Year Old 2004

Volume: 700ml / ABV: 48.4%

Distilled in 2004, this single malt from Glenrothes spent the next 18 years maturing in a single sherry butt. The cask was opened by Douglas Laing in 2023, filled the cask down to just 645 bottles for The Midnight Series.

Tasting Note

Nose

Clearly the sherry cask influence, plus spicy aromas and some mocha.

Palate

Mouth-filling and creamy with clear notes of chocolate and toffee, becoming more spicy afterwards, especially pimento and charred oak are present.

Finish

Very long in the departure, the flavor notes are reflected in the finish, along with preserved fruit and burnt sugar.
