Old Particular Cheers To Better Days Macduff 12 Year Old 2009

Volume: 700ml / ABV: 48.4%

12 year old single malt from the marvelous Macduff Distillery, independently bottled up by Douglas Laing for the Old Particular range. This expression was aged in a refill hogshead for a dozen years, from June 2009 to September 2021, before being bottled at 48.4% ABV with an outturn of only 327 bottles – each one featuring the rather optimistic phrase "Cheers to better days" on the label.

Tasting Note

Nose

Barley sugar sweeties, grist, buttered toast, dried apple chips.

Palate

Wave after wave of vanilla, with a dusting of nutmeg and drying barley.

Finish

A lingering sweetness of pear on the finish.
