Old Particular Big Peat 15 Year Old 2006

Volume: 700ml / ABV: 48.4%

This whisky from the Scottish island of Islay was brought to market by Douglas Laing, an independent bottler. With its smoky aromas - typical of Islay single malt - it warms the palate and pampers you with a light sweetness of popcorn and lots of spices. The single malt matured in the refill butt and was bottled at drinking strength at 48.4% volume. It was neither chill-filtered nor added with coloring. Only 763 bottles were produced.

Tasting Note

Nose

Clearly the sea! Plus the Islay sweet smoke and spicy aromas.

Palate

Like a BBQ - grilled meat and fresh popcorn, behind it spicy ginger.

Finish

Medium-long finish with tons of tar oil, iodine and exotic spices.
