Old Particular Asian Friendship Series Inchgower 25 Year Old 1995

An Asian market exclusive by Douglas Laing, this single cask bottle is from a hard-to-find distillery Inchgower. Distilled in 1995 and filled from a sherry butt which yielded 404 bottles, this is a beautifully sherry matured dram.

Tasting Note

Nose

Despite 10 minutes of breathing, it's still hot and peppery, with a first layer of indistinct fruit and confectionery notes. Later, pronounced aromas of mocha, Twix, and gingerbread emerge, though the lingering heat remains distracting, eventually revealing subtle hints of basil and peppermint.

Palate

As hot as the ABV suggests, with pronounced notes of mocha, coffee grounds, and gingerbread. There's also a brief hint of Taiwanese pineapple cakes. Another layer reveals flavors of baked pears, Twix, vanilla caramel, and more gingerbread.
