The Old Particular range consistently delivers exceptional whiskies, and this one is no different. It's a Dalmore single malt matured for 15 years in a single refill hogshead cask that was bottled up by Douglas Laing in 2021, under their Asia Friendship Series. Only 307 bottles produced.

Tasting Note

Nose

The baking aromas are somewhat incoherent, with ethanol making it hard to decipher. Medium notes of marzipan, vanilla-caramel, salted caramel, and honey come through. After re-nosing, hints of banana chips, butterscotch, honeysuckle, and lightly salted toasted coconut chips occasionally appear.

Palate

The ethanol bite is surprisingly mild. Medium flavors of salted caramel, honey, toffee, and butterscotch dominate, with light hints of wax, dried apricots, marzipan, and Mandarin oranges. A burst of Twix with candied orange peels intensifies, finishing with notes of lightly salted toasted coconut chips, lime, and orange peels.
