About the distillery

Miltonduff Distillery, located near Elgin in the Speyside region of Scotland, was founded in 1824. It is one of the oldest legal distilleries in the region and has a long history of producing malt whisky for both single malts and blends.

Today, Miltonduff is owned by Chivas Brothers (Pernod Ricard) and is a key component in the Ballantine’s blended Scotch whisky range. While official single malt releases under the Miltonduff name are limited, its spirit is highly regarded by independent bottlers and whisky enthusiasts.

Miltonduff whisky is typically light and floral, with a soft fruitiness and gentle spice—characteristics that make it an excellent base malt for blending but also enjoyable on its own when aged in ex-bourbon or sherry casks.

The distillery combines traditional production methods with modern equipment, including a large number of stills, which enables it to maintain a high output to support global blending demand.

Other Information

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Miltonduff single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2010.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 237 liters | New strength 59% ABV | 140 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 336 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
