About the distillery

Longmorn Distillery was founded in 1894 by John Duff and is located in the heart of Speyside, just south of Elgin, Scotland. Renowned for producing rich and elegant single malt whiskies, Longmorn has long been admired by blenders and single malt lovers alike for its smooth, full-bodied character.

The distillery operates with traditional copper pot stills and uses water sourced from local springs, contributing to the classic Speyside profile found in its whiskies—rich with ripe fruits, honeyed malt, and subtle spice. Longmorn’s spirit is often described as well-balanced, creamy, and complex, making it a favorite among whisky connoisseurs.

Though much of Longmorn's production was historically reserved for blending (notably in high-end blends like Chivas Regal), its single malts have gained growing recognition, especially with the release of official bottlings like the Longmorn 16 Years Old and various special editions.

Today, Longmorn remains a key distillery within the Chivas Brothers portfolio (part of Pernod Ricard), continuing to deliver high-quality single malts that exemplify the elegance of Speyside.

Other Information

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Longmorn single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2014.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 217 liters | New strength 63.4% ABV | 138 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 307 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
