This edition is part of the Ki Noh Bi series, which is known for its unique aging process and limited production. The 23rd Edition was released in 2021 and was bottled exclusively for Fine Spirits in Italy. Only 800 bottles were produced, making it a highly sought-after collector's item. The gin is aged in various barrels, including those previously used to mature single malt whiskies and rums, which adds a distinctive character to the spirit. The label features artwork from the Kamiasobi Noh Troupe, continuing the tradition of incorporating cultural elements into the packaging.

Tasting Note

Nose

The aroma is characterised by the signature notes of sansho pepper, green tea, and yuzu, which are prevalent in the Ki No Bi range. These sit behind a veil of peaty smokiness, adding depth and complexity to the scent profile.

Palate

On the palate, the gin presents a harmonious blend of herbs and spices, including ginger, sansho, and shiso, followed by juniper and a citrusy body. The aging process in ex-Kilchoman single malt casks introduces a subtle smokiness that complements the traditional botanical notes.

Finish

The finish is long and crisp, with lingering flavours of green tea and a pleasant bitterness. The peatiness becomes more pronounced towards the end, providing a unique twist to the classic gin profile.
