Mars Komagatake Nature of Shinshu Rindo is a single malt Japanese whisky produced by the Shinshu Mars distillery. This whisky is part of the "Nature of Shinshu" series, which highlights different features of the Japanese landscape surrounding the distillery. The Rindo expression is named after the official flower of Nagano, where the distillery is located. It is bottled at 52% ABV and is available in a 750 ml bottle.

The whisky has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, sherry, and Japanese wine casks, which contributes to its complex flavour profile.

 

Tasting Note

 

Nose

The aroma presents light fruit notes, accompanied by malt and spice.

Palate

On the palate, it is smooth with a balanced mix of flavours from the different casks used in its maturation. The influence of the bourbon, sherry, and wine casks can be detected, providing a rich and layered taste experience.

Finish

The finish is long and satisfying, leaving a lasting impression of the intricate flavours developed during its maturation process.

 

This whisky is noted for its high quality and the unique characteristics imparted by the diverse cask types used in its aging process. It is a well-regarded expression within the Mars Komagatake lineup, appreciated by whisky enthusiasts for its depth and complexity.
