About the distillery

Knockdhu Distillery, founded in 1894, is located near the village of Knock in Aberdeenshire, in the eastern Highlands of Scotland. Despite its traditional name, its whiskies are released under the brand name anCnoc to avoid confusion with the similarly named Knockando distillery.

Knockdhu is known for producing elegant, fresh, and fruity Highland-style single malts, often described as light and floral with notes of citrus, honey, and gentle spices. The distillery uses traditional copper pot stills and worm tub condensers to craft a classic yet refined spirit.

In addition to its core unpeated range, Knockdhu also releases peated expressions, offering a smoky contrast to its otherwise delicate character. The distillery embraces a balance between heritage and modernity, attracting both traditional Scotch lovers and new whisky drinkers alike.

Today, Knockdhu remains one of Scotland’s more boutique-style distilleries, with a loyal following and growing international reputation through its anCnoc brand.

Other Information

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Knockdhu single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2014.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 462 liters | New strength 60.3% ABV | 278 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 657 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
