Third-generation whisky maker Ichiro Akuto created the Red Wine Cask 2023 release, a Chicibu single malt aged in a combination of wine casks sourced from France, the United States, New Zealand, and Japan. It's bottled free from chill-filtration and artificial colourings at a robust 50.5% ABV.

Tasting Note

Nose

A rich and enticing aroma of red berries, dark chocolate, and vanilla, accented with subtle notes of oak and a hint of spice. The influence of the wine casks brings a unique and sophisticated bouquet to the forefront.

Palate

The palate is a harmonious blend of fruity sweetness and spicy warmth. Juicy cherries and ripe plums mingle with layers of caramel, cinnamon, and a touch of toasted oak. The mouthfeel is creamy and full-bodied, providing a luxurious tasting experience.
