About the distillery

Glentauchers Distillery was established in 1897 by James Buchanan & Co., near Keith in the Speyside region of Scotland. Designed by the famous distillery architect Charles Doig, it has a classic layout and was built primarily to produce malt whisky for blending purposes.

Today, Glentauchers is owned by Chivas Brothers (Pernod Ricard) and continues to play a key role in their blends, particularly Ballantine’s. Although it has rarely been marketed as a single malt, independent bottlers occasionally release limited editions, allowing whisky enthusiasts to experience its light, fruity, and floral Speyside character on its own.

The distillery operates in relative quiet without a visitor centre, maintaining a low profile while consistently producing high-quality spirit that reflects the gentle elegance of Speyside whisky.

Other Information

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Glentauchers single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2010.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 173 liters | New strength 69% ABV | 119 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 245 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
