About the distillery

Glenshiel is not a traditional distillery but rather an independent bottling label. It sources single malt Scotch whisky from various distilleries across Scotland, bottling selected casks under the Glenshiel name. These bottlings are often non-chill filtered and natural in color, appealing to whisky purists and enthusiasts.

Named after the historic area of Glenshiel in the Scottish Highlands—famous for its rugged beauty and the Battle of Glenshiel in 1719—the brand emphasizes heritage and Highland spirit in its identity. Each Glenshiel release showcases a unique distillery origin and cask influence, allowing drinkers to explore a diverse range of Scotch profiles.

Since Glenshiel is a bottler rather than a distillery, it does not have its own production facilities. Instead, it curates and bottles casks from other reputable distilleries, typically offering single cask or small-batch expressions.

Other Information

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Glenshiel single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2019.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 247 liters | New strength 64% ABV | 158 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 351 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
