Another sherrybomb from Gordon & MacPhail, this time a single cask 1990 Glenburgie bottled in 2021 as a 31-year-old for the Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength range.

Cask #12524 was, unsurprisingly, a first fill sherry butt of 31-year-old Glenburgie 1990 and yielded 482 bottles at its natural cask strength of 52.9%. This will be a stunner - and whiskies this dark tend to fly out the door, so don't sleep on this one.

Tasting Note

Nose  

Dark forest fruit notes complement clove spice and treacle. Toasted hazelnuts give way to rich stewed apples and charred oak. 

Palate  

Smooth morello cherry flavours intertwine with dark chocolate and black pepper. A hint of liquorice develops alongside toasted almonds. 

Finish  

Full and long with mature oak and bitter marmalade.
