About the Distillery

Glen Spey is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in the town of Rothes, founded in 1878 by James Stuart. Originally a corn mill, it was converted into a distillery and later became part of the Diageo portfolio. Glen Spey is one of several distilleries contributing to the famous J&B blend, and much of its output goes into blended Scotch.

The distillery is known for its use of purifiers on the stills, which help create a light-bodied, grassy, and nutty spirit. While official single malt bottlings are rare, independent bottlers occasionally release Glen Spey expressions, showcasing its gentle, understated character. It remains one of the quieter players in Speyside, valued for its consistent contribution to blending and subtle single malt style.

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Glen Spey single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2015.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 503 liters | New strength 63.7% ABV | 321 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 716 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
