About the distillery

Glen Garioch (pronounced “Glen Geery”) is one of Scotland’s oldest operating distilleries, founded in 1797 in the town of Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, in the eastern Highlands. The distillery has a long and storied history, surviving numerous closures and revivals over more than two centuries.

Glen Garioch is known for its robust Highland single malts. Its whiskies are often full-bodied with notes of baked apples, heather, malt, and subtle spice. Historically, Glen Garioch produced peated whisky, but in recent decades, the style has evolved to focus more on richness and complexity with minimal smoke.

The distillery is currently owned by Beam Suntory and has been modernized while still preserving traditional production methods. Glen Garioch also has a strong sustainability focus and has gained popularity among whisky enthusiasts for its small-batch and limited-edition releases.

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Glen Garioch single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2013.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 196 liters | New strength 63.5% ABV | 125 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 278 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
