About the distillery

Glen Elgin Distillery was founded in 1898 and is situated in the Speyside region of Scotland. It is part of the Diageo group and is located near the town of Elgin in Moray. Known for its traditional craftsmanship, Glen Elgin produces a smooth and delicate single malt whisky that is often used in blends as well as enjoyed on its own.

The distillery employs classic Speyside methods, with careful attention to fermentation and distillation to create a balanced and refined spirit. Glen Elgin whiskies are characterized by fruity notes, malt sweetness, and a gentle oak influence, making them approachable and versatile.

Though primarily contributing to blended whiskies, Glen Elgin also offers some limited single malt releases that highlight the distillery’s distinct style and heritage.

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Glen Elgin single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2009.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 200 liters | New strength 54% ABV | 108 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 284 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
