About the distillery

Deanston Distillery is located on the banks of the River Teith near Doune in the Scottish Highlands. Originally a cotton mill built in 1785, it was transformed into a whisky distillery in 1966. The industrial heritage of the site is still reflected in the distillery’s architecture and power system—Deanston generates its own electricity using a water turbine, making it one of the few distilleries powered by sustainable hydro energy.

Deanston produces non-chill filtered single malt whisky using traditional methods and locally sourced ingredients. It is known for its unpeated style, natural presentation, and rich, honeyed flavor profile. The distillery exclusively uses Scottish barley and a long fermentation period to develop depth and complexity in its spirit.

Over the years, Deanston has gained a loyal following for its craft-focused approach, including limited releases and cask strength expressions. It is owned by Distell Group, alongside Bunnahabhain and Tobermory.

Other Information

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Deanston single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2022.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 248 liters | New strength 63.5% ABV | 157 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 352 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
