About the distillery

Dalmore Distillery is located in Alness, in the Highlands of Scotland, overlooking the Cromarty Firth. It was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson and later taken over by the Mackenzie family, whose royal stag emblem remains on every Dalmore bottle to this day.

Dalmore is best known for producing luxurious, rich, and sherry-cask-influenced single malt whiskies. The distillery is especially famous for its long-standing relationship with Gonzalez Byass, a leading Spanish sherry producer, giving Dalmore access to high-quality Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.

One of Dalmore’s defining production features is its use of different still sizes, which creates a more complex and oily spirit. Combined with long maturations and rich wood finishing, this results in a signature style that is full-bodied, orange-accented, chocolatey, and spicy.

Dalmore's portfolio includes widely recognized age-statement whiskies like the 12, 15, 18, 21, and 25-year-olds, as well as highly prized luxury expressions such as King Alexander III, The Dalmore Constellation Series, and rare decanter bottlings aged 40 years or more.

Other Information

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Dalmore single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2015.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 231 liters | New strength 58.8% ABV | 136 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 327 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
