About the distillery

Cameronbridge Distillery is located in Fife, in the Lowlands of Scotland. It was founded in 1824 by John Haig, making it one of the oldest grain whisky distilleries in Scotland and a pioneer in continuous column distillation.

Cameronbridge is best known for producing single grain Scotch whisky, using a mixture of malted barley and other cereals like wheat or maize. It was among the first distilleries to adopt the Coffey still, which allowed for continuous distillation and much larger-scale production than traditional pot stills.

Today, Cameronbridge is owned by Diageo and remains one of the largest distilleries in Europe, producing grain whisky that serves as the backbone of many major blended Scotch brands, including Johnnie Walker and Haig Club.

In addition to whisky, Cameronbridge also produces white spirits like gin and vodka for various Diageo brands. Its single grain whisky is occasionally bottled independently and is known for a light, smooth, and sweet character, often with vanilla, toffee, and gentle fruit notes.

Cameronbridge continues to be a key player in the Scotch whisky industry and a cornerstone of grain whisky production.

Other Information

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Bunnahabhain peated single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2012.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 245 liters | New strength 68.5% ABV | 168 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 348 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
