Distilled in 1997 at the legendary Bowmore Distillery on Islay, this single cask expression was bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) after 17 years of maturation in a refill sherry butt. Bowmore, established in 1779, is the oldest licensed distillery on Islay, renowned for balancing gentle peat smoke with coastal character and layered sweetness. The SMWS single cask bottling offers an unrepeatable snapshot of Bowmore’s spirit, here given the unique title “Bee Smoker at the Seashore.”

Tasting Note

Nose
Honeycomb sweetness with sea spray, smoked herbs, and subtle sherry-dried fruits.

Palate
A balance of maritime smoke, beeswax, roasted nuts, and dark cocoa, lifted by citrus zest and a briny edge.
