About the distillery

Benrinnes Distillery is located in the Speyside region of Scotland, near Aberlour, and was originally established in 1826. The distillery was rebuilt in 1835 after being destroyed by a flood, and later modernized in the 20th century under various ownerships, now operated by Diageo.

Benrinnes is known for producing a rich, meaty style of single malt, which was once enhanced by a partial triple distillation process—a rare technique in Scotland. Though this method was discontinued in 2007, Benrinnes still retains a robust spirit character that makes it highly prized in blends.

The distillery does not have a wide range of official bottlings, but its single malt has been featured in the Flora & Fauna series and appears frequently in independent bottlings. It is also an important component in many of Diageo’s blends.

Today, Benrinnes continues to operate as a workhorse distillery, producing distinctive Speyside whisky with depth and complexity, particularly suited to sherry cask maturation.

Other Information

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Benrinnes single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2024.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 194 liters | New strength 63.5% ABV | 123 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 274 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
