About the distillery

Auchroisk Distillery was established in 1974 in the Speyside region of Scotland, near the town of Keith. It was built by Justerini & Brooks (now part of Diageo) primarily to supply malt whisky for use in blends, especially for the J&B blend.

The name "Auchroisk" comes from Gaelic and means “the ford of the red stream,” referencing a nearby water source. The distillery draws its water from Dorie’s Well, which is known for its purity and mineral quality, and contributes to the character of its spirit.

Although originally focused on blending, Auchroisk has occasionally released single malt bottlings under its own name and under the name "The Singleton" (used briefly in the 1980s and 1990s). Its single malts are known for a clean, fresh profile with floral and fruity notes, typical of the Speyside style.

Today, Auchroisk remains a vital component in Diageo's blending operations, with occasional independent bottlings giving whisky enthusiasts a chance to explore its lightly fruity and elegant spirit.

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Auchroisk single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2016

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 226 liters | New strength 60.5% ABV | 136 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 320 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
