About the distillery

Auchentoshan Distillery is located in the Lowlands of Scotland, near the city of Glasgow. It was officially established in 1823, although illicit distilling on the site likely occurred earlier. The distillery is one of the few remaining Lowland distilleries and is especially known for its distinctive triple distillation process.

Unlike most Scottish distilleries, which typically distill their spirit twice, Auchentoshan runs its whisky through three copper pot stills, resulting in a spirit that is lighter, more delicate, and higher in alcohol content. This signature style defines the distillery’s character.

Auchentoshan primarily matures its whisky in ex-bourbon barrels, though some expressions also use sherry casks or wine barriques for finishing. Its whiskies are known for citrus notes, gentle sweetness, and an overall smooth, approachable profile.

Today, Auchentoshan is recognized for its modern branding, city accessibility, and its role in representing Lowland-style single malt to both newcomers and connoisseurs alike.

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Auchentoshan single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2024

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 223 liters | New strength 63.5% ABV | 141 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 316 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
