Ardbeg Uigeadail is a special vatting that combines whiskies matured in both ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry Oloroso casks. This combination imparts a rich and complex flavor profile that is both sweet and smoky. The whisky is bottled at cask strength, with an alcohol content of 54.2%, and is non chill-filtered to retain maximum flavor and body.

Tasting Note

Nose

The aroma is rich and weighty, featuring a blend of smoky and sweet notes. Initial scents include warm Christmas cake, walnut oil, and parma violets, complemented by fresh ocean spice, cedar, and pine needles. There's also a hint of smoldering coal fire and well-oiled leather, with sweetness from treacle toffees and chocolate-coated raisins.

Palate

The taste is full-flavored and rich, with a deep, mouth-coating texture. It presents an intriguing balance of sweet, spicy, and smoky flavors. Initially sweet, with notes of Christmas cake, the palate experiences a burst of winter spices leading to a smoky-spicy explosion. This is countered by a mid-palate of honey-glazed smoked food and chewy treacle, with deep smoky tones and rich aromas building up like a fine Montecristo cigar.

Finish

The finish is long and chewy, with lingering raisiny and deep mocha tones, accompanied by rich aromatic smoke.
