Ardbeg Grooves Committee Release is a special edition single malt Scotch whisky from the Islay distillery Ardbeg, released in 2018 to mark Ardbeg Day during the Islay Festival of Music & Malt (Fèis Ìle). This particular bottling is part of Ardbeg's annual limited releases and was made available to Ardbeg Committee members in February 2018.

Tasting Note

Nose
Described as having a lovely dry and smoky character

Texture
Medium weight, oily, spicy and smoky. Notably, no heat despite the high alcohol content.

Taste
Drier than the nose suggests, slight minerality. Dry and smoky profile.

It's worth noting that Ardbeg whiskies are generally known for their peated character, which typically imparts smoky, medicinal, and sometimes maritime notes to the spirit. The Grooves Committee Release appears to maintain this smoky profile while introducing unique elements from its special cask treatment.
