Ardbeg Ardcore Limited Edition is a single malt Scotch whisky from the renowned Islay distillery, Ardbeg. This special release was launched on Ardbeg Day, June 4th, 2022, during the Fèis Ìle (Islay Festival), an annual celebration of the island's whisky and culture. The whisky is notable for its use of heavily roasted black malt, which imparts a distinctive and intense flavour profile.

Tasting Note

Nose

The nose is classic Islay with a moderate peat aroma, sweet corn, and iodine. Sweet, drying, sooty smoke reminiscent of tarry ropes and beach campfires, with lighter floral grassy notes. There are also hints of white fruits like apple, white peach, and white grapes, along with citrus fruits such as orange zest, lemon, and grapefruit.

Palate

The palate is sweet and delicate on entry with an oily texture and moderately rich body. It features familiar Ardbeg smoke with charcoal, barbecue, and ashy flavors.

Finish

It has a drying finish with lingering flavors of salty licorice and char. The smoke and dark chocolate notes remain on the palate without bitterness, making for a pleasant and balanced aftertaste.
