Ardbeg Alligator

Ardbeg Alligator is a no-age-statement (NAS) whisky bottled at 51.2% ABV. It's named after the "alligator charring" technique used on some of the casks in which it was matured. This expression was partly matured in heavily-charred virgin American oak casks for around 10 years, then blended with whisky from other casks. The use of these intensely charred casks gives the whisky its distinctive character and name, as the inside of the barrel resembles alligator skin after the charring process.
