About the distillery

Annandale Distillery was originally established in 1836 in the Lowlands region of Scotland, specifically in Dumfries and Galloway. After operating for nearly a century, the distillery was closed in 1924 and remained silent for 90 years.

In 2007, the site was purchased by new owners who undertook a full restoration, bringing the distillery back to life. Production officially resumed in 2014, making it one of the few active distilleries in the southern Lowlands.

Annandale is known for producing both peated and unpeated single malt whisky, a rare practice among Lowland distilleries. The distillery operates on a small scale, with an emphasis on craft, quality, and transparency in cask selection.

Today, Annandale contributes to the revival of Lowland whisky, offering characterful single malts rooted in heritage and produced with modern precision.

Other Information

This lot offers the fantastic opportunity to own one cask of Annandale single malt scotch whisky, distilled in 2024.

The cask was regauged in January 2025, summarizing the following:

- New bulk 208 liters | New strength 63.5% ABV | 132 liters of alcohol

This would currently yield approximately 295 x 70cl bottles of whisky.

IMPORTANT:

- Annual cask storage fee as well as any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer.

- Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Whisky Gallery. Funds will be held by Whisky Gallery until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction.

- Ownership of this cask is auctioned in bond. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling.
