This term also coincides with the appearance of fireflies in Hokkaido, which is depicted on the whisky's label.

Akkeshi Boshu is a limited edition release, with each bottle being part of a small batch production. The whisky is made from a blend of peated and unpeated malts, with a portion of the barley used being locally grown ryofu domestic barley. This contributes to its unique profile and ties it closely to its region of origin.
